The idea for Vintage Vows Wedding Chapel came about at a wedding shower for one of the neighborhood kids.
After the party, which was held at our restored nineteenth century log cabin, an older couple asked if they could be married there the next month.
My husband and I enjoyed the ceremony and thought we would like to provide a special place for other couples that were planning to be married. We wanted a place that provided not only beauty, but also personal attention and a non-commercial atmosphere. We visited many chapels and took notes of what we liked and disliked about each of them.
Loving antiques the way we do, we also stopped at all antique stores we found. At one, I found an eleven foot, beautiful 200 year old stained glass window which came from a church in Wales. I immediately fell in love with it and my mind started spinning about how to build the chapel.
That window, along with six small antique windows, was purchasedone year before the chapel was even begun. The entire chapel was designed and built around the eleven foot window.
We continued to search out vintage items for the chapel. The end result when we finally completed the building was a beautifully quaint and fairytale like facility with all the modern conveniences.
Our music is a carillon bell system which adds to the enchantment of the special occasion by filling the air both inside and out with wonderful sounds and melodies.
We treat every wedding as if it was one of our family members getting married. We are very liberal with the amount of time you are allowed here, letting you truly enjoy your wedding day.
